National Parks by National Geographic App Reviews

Disapointing!

The app interface is gorgeous, but the contents is dissapointing! At least for the Zion park wchih is the one i bought. It is only $1.99 which is not much, but i bought it becuase it claims to offer tips from National Geographic photographers + parks secrets. The tips from the featured photographer are nothing and the images dissapointing and uninspiring. The app lists the places you should visit but it does not support them with images, just descriptions. Coming from NG, this is disapointing! I certainly will not purchase any other guide.

No trail maps

It may look nice, but they dont include trail maps for the 1.99 that you need to spend. Why wasnt I told before I spent the money? They dont even let you know what youre missing... This app used to be good, but they made it "free" and removed all the trail maps...

U.S. Only?

Its interesting that the navel gazers in the U.S. think they are the only ones that have national parks.

Wheres Canada!?

Put Canada in it!

Wheres Canada national park

Nice layout. But Its not what Im looking for. I need Canada national park guides. I hope it will coming soon!

NO CANADIAN PARKS

Disappointing. International, American, and Canadian travellers criss-cross our border frequently. Why not offer the best parks of BOTH our beautiful countries?

Eh?

Although I plan to one day see many parks in the US, Canada has some amazing parks that I would love to see on this app. Only thing keeping from rating 5 stars. Other than that, great app!

Great app!

Slick, useful and great content. Rarely have I been satisfied if an app like this!

Good app

Its hard for me to understand why this app has been trashed by the reviewers. It looks like the reviewers thought they were trying an app that featured Canadian parks and then became disgruntled when they found it only features US National parks. Perhaps they should have spent more than three seconds reading because they would have figured out the purpose of the app. That aside the app had some nice features. You can check out all of the campgrounds easily and it provides great info like price and site quality in one convenient location. Great pictures and maps help guide you to the best places to check out. Im a Canadian but a huge fan of the US parks system. They are cheap to camp 10 bucks a night in most places, and relatively unspoilt. Ontario parks are a colossal rip off in comparison with the rising fees that have priced many working class families out of what used to be the vacation everyone could afford. Give me a break Canada we dont have everything figured out when it comes to conservation and public access. Go to any US National park. You wont be disappointed.

Where are the rest of the parks?

It seems like its pretty well set up but its missing over 30 parks. Also I question its usability when youre off-line without Wi-Fi as you generally are when youre in a national Park. It is pretty nice to have general information about the hikes and activities at the parks for planning purposes. For $13 I expected more.

DO NOT BUY CONTENT!

I bought the full package, all the parks info... hardly works at all. Most content wont load up. The problem is not my iPad or the iOS, its the app. Get your act together national geographic! Stop stealing from people!

LOVE this app!

I feel like a few parks may be missing however I love the layout and the easy navigation around this app. Its fantastic. Please make one for Canada! ♥️♥️

Excellent app

NatGeo is an American organization. This app is about US national parks. Bad mouthing it because it doesnt have Canadian parks reflects poorly on those "reviewers". Put a cork in it then create your own app. And delete your "review".

Unable to purchase full set

When trying in-app purchase of full set, "Transaction failed. Purchase could not be completed" pop-up window appear. Sometimes it is replaced by "This is not a test account. Sandbox environment". iPhone 4

Restore Purchases?

How do I restore my purchases? I bought 2 volumes, but when I installed the app back again on my iPhone, Ive been charged once again for the same guide! 5 stars nonetheless if I can restore my purchases, but for now just 1!

Need to restore purchases

Wonderfull app, but it needs a way to restore purchased guides. I changed my IPhone, and, up to now, there is no way to restore the guides that I bought. 5 stars when this problem will be solved.

;)

This app is very beautiful!

Great app

Im planning a trip to Zion. This app will help me have a better vacation.

Missing out

Would have given more stars but, there is not a single park listed in your “guide" that is within a days drive from my house! Their are at least three major parks within 2-4 hours and none are listed. What gives? Originally gave three stars, had to downgrade when I saw how much was charged for info you can get for free from the national park site. Really should focus on little visited parks and give info that is hard to come by. Finally added one of the parks in my state, but have ignored all other near me. Why does Utah get all the attention while many other states get little to none?

Total disappointment / waste of $$$

The in-app purchase for Yellowstone was a total disappointment. The content is super basic and thin. There where only three photo tips. THREE! National Geographic makes this app, right?? The apps map feature faios to show photo opportunities on the map, despite advertising this feature! Likewise, there were only a few basic things listed to see or do. Its YELLOWSTONE for Gods sake, where there are endless thing to see/do. but you wont learn about theme here. I would have been disappointed with this app if it was free, let alone an in-app purchase for only a couple basic pages Totally disappointed. National Geographic should be ashamed.
